There's the frog! Despite the rust this is the newest of the sculptures, according to their web site, anyway. This piece is done by Stephen Fairfield and is located near downtown on the east site of the Fox River along the Fox River Trail.

Another of Tom's photo's taken from the Fox River. This is one of the bird related sculptures along the Fox River Trail. The sculpture is by Richard Taylor, made of aluminum and is named My House of Feather and Stone.

This monument is a closeup of the photo from yesterday and from the other side. It's essentially a two google earth maps of the east and west sides of Green Bay and using space to show the Fox River.

Tugboat Indiana

Another of Tom's photo's from the Fox. According to Tom, these two tugboats don't seem to leave their mooring very often.

Downtown Green Bay

This another of Tom's photo from the Fox River. The main buildings in the photo (right to left) are the Bellin Building (white), the north face of the Meyer Theatre (tan brick), and the Brown County Circuit Courthouse (domed).

Neville Public Museum From the Fox River

Lewis J. Kuber Unloads Gravel

Another of Tom's photo's of the Lewis J. unloading it's gravel cargo to the pile along the Fox River.

Fishing By the Lewis J. Kuber

Another boat (technically a self unloading barge) the Lewis J. Kuber is unloading gravel for concrete. The large pile is just south of the mouth of the Fox River. You can see the west side of the Leo Frigo Bridge in the background.

Again, the photo is another of Tom's great fishing trip photos.

Fishing By the Duck on the Bay

Just another of Tom's photo's while out fishing on the Bay. I'm guessing the duck was drying itself off.

Bay Beach Pavilion

This is another of Tom's photos while aboard "ship" on the Bay of Green Bay. Specifically this is the Bay Beach Pavilion and Dance Hall. It's on the Bay Beach site and can be rented out for events.

Big Slide at Bay Beach

Another of Tom's shots from the Bay of Green Bay. On the northeast side of the city is a small amusement park that has been there since before I was a kid. It's called Bay Beach and the most expensive ride is 50 Cents.

This ride is the big slide and it's about 100 feet high. You slide down on a burlap sack and be sure not to touch any bare skin while speeding down ... the heat and friction will burn it right off. My favorite ride will forever be the Bumper Cars ... they are almost as much fun today as they were back then.

UW Green Bay From the Bay of Green Bay

The campus and main building of UWGB Campus from the Bay of Green Bay. Once again Tom took this photo on a fishing expedition.

There is also a Frisbee Golf Course on the campus near the main building in the center of the photo. Frisbee Golf is a pastime of mine, but I don't go as much as I'd like. My little brother is a very good Frisbee Golfer.

See, I Told You He was Fishing

Apparently he even caught one. It was a nice musky for that day, I think ... I'm not even sure that is a musky ... I'm not really an outdoorsman.

The Alpena Stern View

The Alpena was launched in 1942 as the Leon Fraser and previously carried iron ore.

Tom also took this photo on the same fishing junket.

The Alpena Arrives

Tom took this photo of the Alpena as it arrives with another load of concrete to drop off in Green Bay. The pile is pretty impressive ... you'll see it in one of my photos some day.

Leo Frigo Memorial Bridge

The Leo Frigo Memorial Bridge as seen from the Bay of Green Bay. This photo was taken by Tom on one of his fishing expeditions. Leo founded Paul's Pantry here in Green Bay, a very worthwhile charity.

Grapes, Crab Apples and Something Else

Another photo from my walk along the Fox River Trail. There looks to be three types of fruit overlapping in this area, grapes, crab apples and some other indigo fruit.

Just an interesting piece of lawn ornament I spotted walking the Fox River Trail one afternoon

Hot Dog Sign

Another photo from the Fox River Trail. At this point the trail cuts through someone's backyard. Obviously this person cares for the dogs that run and walk down this trail daily. I saw at least four dogs on the trail that afternoon. I'm sure it's appreciated on a hot day.

The Einstein Project: Anonymous

This must have been a butterfly that was auctioned from a past season of the Einstein Project. It's currently on a private dock somewhere along the Fox River Trail. It looks a little weathered but still caught my eye right away. I could not figure out the real name of this butterfly, so I called it Anonymous.

Nicolet National Bank

The Nicolet National Bank building in downtown Green Bay and borders the east side of the fox river. This building is new enough (2004ish) that I consider it to be part of the downtown revitalization project. The building is right across the street, just north, from the Bellin Building. Aon Consulting and Aon Risk Services also has offices here.

Theme Day: Doorways

This is the "soon to be" doorway of the cabin my friend Tom is building up north. Of all the pictures he gave me to put up, I'm guessing this the one he least expected to see.
