This one again was photographed by Tom. I beleive it was taken on one of his trees in his backyard and shows the more typical butterfly view.

Super Moth! (In Profile)

This is again a picture Tom took for the blog some 20 miles or so outside of Green Bay.

I did some research on this type of moth, but I couldn't really come up with a match. If I was pressed I'd call it a sphinx moth ... but who knows. It's honestly more striking than most butterflies I've seen.

Sylvania Wilderness Area

Once again I'm annexing the north woods.

This picture is from Clark Lake of the Slyvania Wilderness Area of the Ottowa National Forest. This area has 5 large lakes and 34 in total. It has never been developed and they don't allow any kind of motor boat on the lakes. They are clear down to the bottom in 30 or more feet on a nice sunny day. This particular day it was totally overcast and rainy so I didn't take any big lake pictures ... but this one shows the unpolluted water quite nicely.

My favorite of the large lakes is Loon Lake because of the the loons on the lake. Next time I'm going back on a nice day and hopefully get some better pictures.

City Stadium Take Two

In honor of the Packer Game tonight against the reigning NFC champion Cardinals, I figured I'd finish with slightly wider angle photo of City Stadium.

UFO Landing Port

I actually took this picture today, I had some software training to do in Kewaunee, WI. I took my camera with me knowing I'd be passing through some nice landscapes and a local amusement.

This is an actual UFO Landing Port put up by a Poland, WI resident. Poland is a small town a few miles South East of Green Bay. According to the web link most town residents including his son thinks he's crazy. I don't think that, I think he's egotistical to think they'd come all this way with a space craft designed to land right there.

Ducks on the Pond

Another case of wild animals noticing me and my camera and fleeing. I'm starting to get a complex. All the pictures of the ducks I have are of them scurrying away on the water and I liked this one best because of the water dripping from the right one's bill.

Again, these pictures were really taken in the North Woods, so once again I'm claiming them as my territory. At least one of the others has good water sparkles ... I'm sure it will show up some day.

Eagle Flys Overhead

More flying creatures this week. Slight disclaimer in that this in not from Green Bay, as I have now claimed the North Woods into my Green Bay Daily Photo territory (for the day at least).

I spotted this majestic bird flying near Big St. Germain Lake with two other eagles about a third of mile south of the lodge I was staying at.

This bird was the smallest of the three and it must have nested north of where I stayed, as I saw it fly over many times during the weekend, but only got pictures of it twice.

And it football news, my friends from Japan, Butterfly and Coach, seemed disappointed in Brett and didn't believe he would do well. So if two Japanese women can figure this out, what does that say about our neighbors to the west?
