This condemned building (from 1833) is more than that. Amazingly it's a piece of history.Part of this building is the original guardhouse of Fort Howard (Run for a time by Zachary Taylor). Apparently it's been moved once, but it's still in the Fort Howard area of Green Bay. The city issued a Raze or Repair Order in December in 2008. Since then the city has decided to remove the building (for $20,000) and turn it over to Heritage Hill Historical Site. Heritage Hill has a few other of Fort Howard's original buildings so I'm sure the building will feel right at home.
